in a room there is a lamp of 60 watts, 2 tubelights of 40 watts, fan of 80 watt if all of them are used for 10 hours a day then calculate the total electricity consumed in kWh. if one unit of electricity costs rs2.25 calculate the amount in month of may​

  • Power of 2 tubelightes=40×2=80W

  • Power of fan=80W

  • Time=10hrs/day for 31 days of may month=310hrs

  • Total power,P=60+80+80=220W

  • Total time,t=310h

Using Formula,

Electricity consumed,

H=pt

H=(220×310)/1000 kWh

H=(22×31)/10 kWh

H=682/10 kWh

H=68.2 unit (kWh)

Now,,

The cost of one unit electricity=Rs.2.25

Therefore, cost of 68.2 unit electricity

=68.2×2.25

=153.45 Rs.
