Given : in a row of boys facing toward north Deepesh is twelfth from the left end and Rohit is nineteenth from the right end. if they interchange their positions ,then Deepesh is twenty first from the left end

To Find  total boys a  in the row

1) 30 2) 37 3) 39 4) 36

Solution:

Deepesh is twelfth from the left end => 11 people are in left of Deepesh

Rohit is nineteenth from the right end => 18 people are in right of Rohit

---------11------- D-----------   R -----------18 -------------

they interchange their positions ,then Deepesh is twenty first from the left end

Now Deepesh is 21st from left means Rohit's initial position is 21st  from left

21st from left mean 20 are in left of Rohit's initial position

---------20------- R -----------18 -----------

20 people in left of Rohit  , 18 people in right of Rohit  and Rohit himself

Hence total = 20 + 1 + 18  = 39

There are 39 in row
