Girls in a row is facing north.

A is sixteenth from left end.

C is sixteenth from right end.

B is fourth to the right of A.

B is also the fifth to the left of C.

These type of questions can be solved by finding any one person's position from both the end , as it will act as the reference position. Then the addition of position from both sides and subtracting 1 from it will give the total number of girls in the row.

For visualization purpose an image is attached.

So, position of B is 20th position from left, and 21st from the right end.

Hence total number of girls will be (20+21-1)=40.

Hence , total number of girls will be 40.
