absent = 1x/25

 720 students were present on that day

so lets form an euqation

x = 1x/25 + 720

x - 1x/25 = 720

24x/25 = 720

x = 720*25/24

x = 30*25

x = 750

so there are 750 students in the scool

Therefore,



Number on present students + Number or absent students = Total number of students




720 + X/25 = X



18000 + X/25 = X



18000 + X = 25X



25X - X = 18000


24X = 18000



X = 18000/24


X = 750



Total Number of students = X = 750
