In a school ,5/8 of the total students are girls. If the number of girls is 120 more than that of the boys what is the strength of the school ? How many boys are there ?

     no. of girls = x*5/8

    no. of boys=  x- x*5/8= x*3/8

        x*5/8 =120 + x*3/8

  or,   x*5/8 - x*3/8 = 120

  or,   x*2/8 = 120

   or,  x  =  120*8/2

      so , x= 480

no. of students = 480

no. of boys = 480*3/8 = 180
