in a school a pt teacher wants to arrange 2000 students in the form of rows and columns for pt display.if the number of rows is equal to number of columns and 64 students could not accommodated in this arrangement .find the number of rows

Hi!

Total children = 2000
No. of rows = no. of columns = x

Accommodated children = x*x = x²
Unaccommodated children = 64
Therefore accommodated = 2000 - 64 = 1936 = x²

No. of rows = x = √1936 (I have included the process of square root by long division method in a pic)

No. of rows = 44.
