SOLUTION -

50 % of students take part in sports and 10 % take part in cultural activities.

★ Percentage of students that participate in other activities = ( 100 - 50 - 10 ) % = 40 %

Number of students participating in sports

➜ 50 % of 1650

➜\tt \dfrac{50}{100}  \times 1650 = 825

Number of students participating in cultural programmes

➜ 10 % of 1650

➜\tt \dfrac{10}{100}  \times 1650 = 165

Number of students participating in other activities

➜ 40 % of 1650

➜\tt \dfrac{40}{100}  \times 1650 = 660

Hence, 825 students participate in sports, 165 in cultural programmes and 660 in other activities

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Total students = 36

Students participated in dance = 12

Students participated in Music = 10

To find :

Fraction of students participated in dance

Fraction of students participated in Music

Fraction of students that didn't participate

Solution :

1) What fraction of the total students have participated in dance ?

Total students = 36

Students in dance = 12

\sf{Fraction = \dfrac{Dance \: participants}{Total \: students}}</p><p>

\begin{gathered}\sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{12}{36} \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \gray{Reduce \: it }\: \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{1}{3}\end{gathered} </p><p>

Fraction of the students have participated in dance

\sf{\dfrac{1}{3}}

	</p><p> </p><p></p><p>\rule{300}{1.5}</p><p></p><p>

2) What fraction of the total students have participated in music ?

Total students = 36

Students in dance = 10

\sf{Fraction = \dfrac{Music\: participants}{Total \: students}}</p><p>

 \pink{\begin{gathered}\sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{10}{36} \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \gray{Reduce \: it }\: \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{5}{18}\end{gathered} </p><p>}

Fraction of the students have participated in music

 \red{\sf{\dfrac{5}{18}} }</p><p>

\rule{300}{1.5}</p><p>

3) How many students have not participated at all. What is their fraction?

Total students = 36

Students that didn't participate =

⇒ 36 - (12 + 10)

⇒ 36 - 22

⇒ 14

\sf{Fraction = \dfrac{Non \: participants}{Total \: students}}

</p><p>\begin{gathered}\sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{14}{36} \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \gray{Reduce \: it }\: \\ \\ \sf{\longrightarrow} \: \dfrac{7}{18} \:\end{gathered} </p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Fraction of the non participants is

\sf{\dfrac{7}{18}}
