In a school, ratio of boys to girls is 5:7. The total number of students is 660.This year 25 new boys joined and 35 girls left the school. Find the ratio of boys to girls this year.​

To calculate the new ratio of boys to gir1s at first we have to find out the number of gir1s and boys then subtract the no of gir1s in old no of gir1s which is already in school after that add no of new boys in no of boys who is already in the school after that we have to calculate the new ratio to boys and gir1s.

$\rm{\longrightarrow 5x + 7x = 660}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow 12x = 660}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow x = 55}$

• Now calculate no of boys and girls :-]

$\rm{\longrightarrow Number\:_{(boys)}=5x=5(55)=275}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow Number\:_{(gir1s)}=7x=7(55)=385}$

• Now calculate no of new G and B :-

$\rm{\longrightarrow Number\:_{(New\:gir1s)}=385 - 35=350}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow Number\:_{(New\:boys)}=275 + 25=300}$

• Now calculate ratio B to G :-

$\rm{\longrightarrow New\: ratio\:_{(boys\:to\:gir1s)}=300 : 350=6 : 7}$

$\sf\small\underline{Hence,\:the\:new\: ratio\:_{(boys\: : \:gir1s)}=6:7}$
