Total number of boys = 1800

32 % of boys pass :

= 32/100 × 1800

= 576

Total number of girls :

= 1200

50% of girls pass

= 50/100×1200

= 600

Total number of students

= no. of boys + no.of girls

Total number of students

=1800 + 1200

= 3000

Now,

Number of pass students

= number of pass boys + no. of pass girls

= 576 + 600

= 1176

No. of failed students

= No. of total students - No. of pass students

= 3000-1176

= 1824

Percentage of failed students

= No. of failed students × 100/ No.of total students

= 1824×100/3000

= 60.8 %

60.8% students did not pass.
