Total no. of students = 50
No. of students passed = 88% of 50 = 88/100× 50 = 44

No. of students failed = 50-44 =6
Lets no. Of boys failed = x
According to question,
No. Of girls failed = no. Of boys failed = x

x + x = 6
2x = 6
x =3

No. Of boys failed = 3
% of girls = 42%
Therefore, % of boys = 58%
No. Of boys = 58% of 50 = 58/100 × 50 = 29

No. Of boys passed = no. Of boys - no. Of boys passed=29-3 =26
