Dear Student,

Answer: School Y

Solution:

ATQ School X :

students appeared in exam = 48

Students passed in exam= 36

pass percentage =
 \frac{number \: of \: passed \: students}{number \: of \: appeared \: students} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{36}{48} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{3600}{48} \\ \\ = 75
Students pass percentage in school X = 75%

School Y :

students appeared in exam = 30

Students passed in exam= 24

pass percentage =
 \frac{24}{30} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{240}{3} \\ \\ = 80
Students pass percentage in school Y= 80%

So,School Y won the Award by district educational officer .

****************************************************

Let the number of students passed = m

number of students Appeared = n

Pass percentage = ( m/n ) × 100

**************"************************************

i ) Pass percentage of school X =(36/48)×100

= 75%

ii ) pass percentage of school Y =(24/36)×100

= 80%

Therefore ,

District Educational Officer announced the

award to School Y

I hope this helps you.
