In a screening test admission for engineering college, 90 mcq's were asked.in the test, 4 marks were awarded for each correct answer and 1 marks deducted for wrong answer. A candidate answered all questions and scored 200 marks. How many question he answered correctly???

Let x be the number of questions answered correctly.
number of wrong answers and unattempted questions =(90-x)
Since for every correct answer 4 marks are awarded and for every wrong answer or an attempted question one mark is deducted.
=Total score =4x-(90-x)×1=4x-(90-x)

But the total score is given as 200
=4x-(90-x)=200
➡ 4x-90+x=200
➡5x-90=200
➡5x=200+90
➡5x=290
➡x=58
