Total number of possible outcomes when a pair of dice is thrown = 36

Sample space = (1,1) (2,2) (3,3) (4,4) (5,5) (6,6)
= 6

Probability (getting doublet) = 6/36

= 1/6

When two simultaneous pair of dice is thrown then the number of duplet are


(1 ,1) ,( 2 , 2) , (3 , 3) , (4 , 4) , (5 , 5) and (6 ,6)




Possible outcomes = 36


And,


Favourable outcomes = 6



Therefore,


P ( Getting a duplet ) = Favourable outcomes/Possible outcomes = 6/36 = 1/6.
