2X + 3 = 3X - 5 ( GIVEN)
3 + 5 = 3X - 2X

Substitute x= 8.
2X + 3 = 3x -5
2 (8) + 3 = 3(8) - 5
16 + 3 = 24 - 5
19 = 19.
