No, it does not.

As Wilbert pointed out earlier, SAP certification is not a mandatory prerequisite for getting a job in SAP area. Indeed, a lot of people without certification but with practical experience easily find jobs, while fresh graduates who have just been certified but do not have any hands-on SAP experience cannot find a job.

Having said so, I would recommend you to look for an internship or an entry-level job where you can obtain some experience with SAP ABAP. I think that even a 3 month internship, during which you can get started with SAP, will open for you more opportunities than SAP certification.

At the same time I do not discard the positive value of SAP certification. It is definitely beneficial and brings you additional recognition in SAP community. Your future employer will likely ask you to get certified later on and will also probably cover the cost of certification
