In a square abcd, if ab=(3x-8) cm and bc=(x+6)cm, find the value of x. Also, find the the length of each side of the square.

Answer:

ABCD is a square

so

AB=BC=CD=AC

NOW

ab =cd

3x-8=x+6

3x-x=6+8

2x=14

x=14÷2

x=7

now ab=3x-8

ab=3×7-8

ab=21-8

ab=13

so ab =bc=cd=ac=13cm each

AB = BC

3x-8 = x+6

3x-x = 6+8

2x = 14

x = 14/2

x = 7

Length of the each side is = AB = 3x - 8

AB = 3 * 7 - 8

AB = 21 - 8

AB = 13

All sides of the triangle are equal then

:- AB = BC = CD = DC = 13.
