let the sugar and water be X
4x + X = 1000g
5x = 1000g
X= 1000g/5
X= 200g
then 200g sugar should be added.

Answer:

.24 kg

Step-by-step explanation

4:1 ratio so at first, amount of sugar= (1/5)X2 = 0.4 kg

let, X amount of sugar is to be added

now, X + 0.4 = (2/7) X (2+X)

7x + 2.8 = 4 + 2x

5x = 1.2

x = 0.24 kg
