Number of students who play volleyball n(V) = 300

Number of students who play cricket n(C) = 250

Number\: of\: students \:who\: play\: both

 n( V \cap C) = 110

 i) Number \:of \: students \:who \:play \:only

 Volleyball = n(V) -  n( V \cap C)

 = 300 - 110

 = 190

 ii) Number \:of \: students \:who \:play \:only

 Cricket = n(C) -  n( V \cap C)

 =250 - 110

 = 140

 iii)The \:number \:of \:students\: who\: play

 either\: volleyball \:or\: cricket= n (V \cup C)

 = n(V) + n(C) - n( V \cap C )

 = 300 + 250 - 110

 = 550 - 110

 = 440
