Given :

  • Guitar = 45
  • Violin = 12
  • Recoreder = 23
  • Drum = 15
  • Keyboard = 25

To find :

  • the information in a pie chart

Solution :

⇒ Let's add up to total.

Total = 45 + 12 + 23 + 15 + 25

        = 120

⇒ Now, let's write them as fractions.

  • Guitar = 45/120
  • Violin = 12/120
  • Recorder = 23/120
  • Drum = 15/120
  • Keyboard = 25/120

⇒ Now, we have to multiply 360° by the fractions to find the angles.

  • Guitar = 45/120 x 360°

                   = 16200/120

                   = 135°

  • Violin = 12/120 x 360°

                  = 4320/120

                  = 36°

  • Recorder = 23/120

                        = 23/120 x 360°

                        = 8280/120

                        = 23°

  • Drum = 15/120

                   = 15/120 x 360°

                   = 5400/120

                   = 45°

  • Keyboard = 25/120

                         = 25/120 x 360°

                         = 9000/120

                         = 75°

⇒ Since, we have calculated all the angles, we can present them.

  • Now, we have to draw a big circle.
  • Then, we have to mark the middle of the circle, and then, we have to measure the degree of each sector using a Protractor.
