Given : In a symmetrical distribution, Q3 – Q1 = 20, median = 15

To find  : Q3  

Solution :

in a symmetrical distribution

Median = ( Q₁ + Q₃)/2

=> 15 = ( Q₁ + Q₃)/2

=> Q₁ + Q₃ = 30

Q₃ - Q₁ = 20

Adding both

2Q₃ = 50

=> Q₃  = 25

Q₁ + Q₃ = 30

=> Q₁ + 25 = 30

=> Q₁  = 5

Q₃  = 25
