In a test (+5) marks are given for every correct answer and (–2) marks are given for every incorrect answer.
(i) Radhika answered all the questions and scored 30 marks though she got 10 correct answers?why?

for 10correct answers she got 10 × 5 = 50 marks.
then 10 questions are wrong and she gets a negative making of 10 × -2 = -20.
so her cumulative score is 30. the test is of 20 questions.

Wrong answer = -2


Number of marks awarded for correct answer:

She had 10 correct answers

1 correct answer = 5

10 correct answers = 5 x 10 = 50


Find the marks deducted for wrong answers:

He scored 30 marks for the whole test

Marks deducted = 50 - 30 = 20


Find the number of wrong answers:

1 wrong answer = -2

Number of wrong answers =( -20) ÷ (-2) = 10
