AnswEr:-

Given,

the parallel sides of the trapezium are = 40 cm and 20 cm

• the equal sides = 26cm

So, distance between the parallel sides =

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \sqrt{ {26}^{2} -  { (\frac{(40 - 20)}{2} })^{2} } \: cm  \\  =  \sqrt{676 -  ({10})^{2} }  \: cm \\  =  \sqrt{676 - 100} \: cm  \\  =  \sqrt{576}  \: cm \\  = 24 \: cm

So, area of trapezium =

  \:  \:  \:  \: \frac{1}{2}  \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) \times distance \: between \: them  \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (40 + 20) \times 24 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\  = 12 \times 60 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\  = 720  \: {cm}^{2}
