in a triangle  ABC ,AB = AC , angle CAB = 40, then angle ABC = ?

AB=AC, it means angles opposite to equal sides are equal.therefere
angle B is also equal to angle C.
let the missing angles be x
⇒x°+x°+40°= 180°
⇒2x°+40°=180°
⇒2x°=180-40
⇒2x°=140°
⇒x°=140°/2
=70°
angle ABC = 70°

sum of three angles  A +  B + C = 180°
so  sum of angles  ABC + ACB = 180 ° - 40° = 140°
Since two sides are equal, it  is an isosceles triangle.

so angle ACB = angle ABC = 140 /2 = 70°
