In a triangle ABC ,D and E are point on AB and AC respectively such that AD = AE and DB = EC. Prove that DE is parallel to BC.​

Given, AD×EC=AE×DB

∴  

DB  AD   =  EC  AE

 

By Coverse of basic Proportionality theorem, which states that

''If a line divides two lines of a △ in same ratio, then line is parallel to Third side.''

DE∥BC

Hence, proved.
