The height us double the base.
Therefore h = 2b
Now area = \frac{1}{2}  b h
400 cm^{2}   =   \frac{1}{2} (b) (2b)
[2 gets cancelled from the numerator and denominator]
400 cm^2 = b^2
b =  \sqrt{400 cm^{2} }
b = 20 cm
h = 2b = 2 (20cm) = 40cm
