Step-by-step explanation:

We Have :-

A Two Digit Number

To Find :-

The Number

Solution :-

Let the number be xy

y = 3x

10x + y

10x + y + 36 = 10y + x

9x + 36 = 9y

9y - 9x = 36

9 ( y - x ) = 36

y - x = 4

substituting y = 3x

3x - x = 4

2x = 4

x = 2

y = 3x

y = 3 × 2

y = 6

Number is 26

\large{\underline{\green{\rm{Let:}}}}

  • The ones digit be X
  • The ten's digit be Y
  • The number be 10Y+X

\large{\underline{\red{\rm{Given:}}}}

In 2 digit number the units is thrice the ten's digit

  • by solving here

\bold{\implies X=3y----(2)}

If 36 is added to number the digits interchange the places

\bold{\implies 10y+x+36=10x+y}

\bold{\implies 10x-x+y-10y=36}

\bold{\implies 9x-9y=36}

\bold{\implies x-y=4----(2)}

  • putting the value of X=3y in EQ 1

\bold{\implies 3y-y=4}\bold{\implies y=2}

  • putting the value of y=2 in EQ 1

\bold{\implies x=3*2}\bold{\implies x=6}

Hence,

The number=10y+X=10×2+6=26
