So, number of women = 54 - 18 = 36.

= > (3/8)x = 18

= > x = 48.
Now,
It is also given that (1/3)rd of the women participate in social activity.
= > (1/3)y = 36
= > y/3 = 36
= > y = 108.
Therefore, total number of men and women in the village = 108 + 48 = 156.
