THERE ARE A LOT OF WAYS FOR ANSWERING THIS QUESTION I WILL TELL 2 OF THEM:

This is easier but time consuming in bigger questions…. lets take your question for instance: increase in first year = 5/100 * 800 [that says 5 percent of 800] = 40……[then we increase the value and find the 1 year increased student] = 800+40 = 840………[now again 5% of 840] = 5/100 * 840 = 42……. therefore students after 2 years = 800+40+42=840+42 = 882

this is known as COMPOUND INTEREST which has a formula of ………………. a=p*[1+r/100]^t(only when population increases)…where p = principal….r=rate……t=time……..as we are solving population question then p=population…….rate=rate of increase of population………a=amount of population in total after increase..….t=time……lets solve the problem now . a=800[1+5/100]^2=a=800[1+1/20]^2 =800*21/20*21/20=a=882
