Least count is the least value that can be measured using a measuring device. It is calculated by dividing the total value measured in ‘n’ number of divisions by the total number of divisions,i.e., ‘n’.

Least Count (LC) = Value of ‘n’ divisions/n

Given that the voltmeter measures 0.5V in 20 divisions

=> Value = 0.5 V

n = 20

LC = 0.5/20 = 0.025 V = 25mV

Thus, the least count of voltmeter is 25mV.
