Answer:

Given:-

In a zoo,the ratio of lions to monkeys is 5 to 8.If the total number of lions and monkeys is 65

To find:-

how many more monkeys are there than lions?

Ratio of lion to monkeys =5:8

Let us assume number of lions is 5x and monkeys as 8x

=5x+8x=65

=13x=65

x =  \frac{65}{13}

x=5

Number of lions=5x

=5×5

=25

Number of monkeys=8x

=8×5

=40

many more monkeys are there than lions=number of monkeys-number of lions

=40-25

=15

Therefore 15 monkeys are more than lions
