and AC = 15cm, then value of AE will be :

Required to find AE.

By using Thales Theorem,

[As DE ∥ BC] ADBDADBD = AECEAECE

Let, AE = x, then CE = 15 - x.

⇒ 3434 = x(15–x)x(15–x) 45 – 3x = 4x -3x – 4x = – 45 7x = 45 x = 457457 x = 6.43 cm

∴ AE = 6.43
