Answer:

(i). AC = 13cm

(ii). BC = 8cm

(iii). AB = 7cm

(iv). BC = 15cm

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) AB = 5 cm, BC = 12 cm

Using Pythagoras theorem,

AC² =AB²+BC²

= 5² +12²

= 25+144

= 169

AC=13 cm

(ii) AB = 6cm, AC = 10cm

Using Pythagoras theorem,

AC² =AB²+BC²

10² = 6² + BC²

100 = 36 + BC²

100 - 36 = BC²

64 = BC²

8 cm = BC

(iii) AC = 25cm, BC = 24cm

Using Pythagoras theorem,

AC² =AB²+BC²

25² = AB² + 24²

625 = AB² + 576

625 - 576 = AB²

49 = AB²

7cm = AB

(iv) AC = 17cm, AB = 8cm

Using Pythagoras theorem,

AC² =AB²+BC²

17² = 8² + BC²

289 = 64 + BC²

289 - 64 = BC²

225 = BC²

15cm = BC

Hope it helps you..
