Contractile Vacuole in the amoeba collects excess water in it's body. Ammonia is at times expelled along with water out of the contractile vacuole as ammonia is soluble in water. The contractile vacuole in amoeba shrinks when excess water is excreted into the surroundings and expands when it takes in water.
