Step-by-step explanation:

We have, a

8

=31 and a

15

=16+a

11

⟹a+7d=31 and a+14d=16+a+10d

⟹a+7d=31 and 4d=16

⟹a+7d=31 and d=4⟹a+7×4=31

⟹a+28=31⟹a=3

Hence, the AP is a,a+d,a+2d,a+3d ...

i.e.,3, 7, 11, 15, 19, ...

Given : In an A.P 8th term is 16 and 16th term is 48.

To Find :

( a) find the common difference of the A.P

(b)find the 25th term of the A.P

Solution:

nth term = a + (n - 1) d

a = first term

d = common difference

8th term = 16

=> a + 7d  = 16

16th term is 48

=> a + 15d  = 48

=> 8d  = 32

=> d  = 4

the common difference of the A.P  = 4

25th term of the A.P

= a  + 24d

= a + 15d  + 9d

= 48 + 9(4)

= 48 + 36

= 84

25th term of the A.P is 84
