22

Answer:

Question

  • In an AP series, first term is 2 and common difference is 3. Find the sum of first 22 terms.

Answer

Given :-

  • An AP series, in which first term, a = 2 and common difference, d = 3.

To find :-

  • Sum of first 22 terms

Formula used :-

Sum of first n terms of an AP is given by

\bf \:S_n = \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n - 1)d)

where,

  • a = first term of an AP
  • d = Common Difference of an AP
  • n = number of terms of AP

Solution:-

Here, In an AP Series,

First term, a = 2

Common Difference, d = 3

number of terms, n = 22

So, sum of n terms is given by

\bf \:S_n = \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n - 1)d)

On substituting the values of n, a, d, we get

\bf \:S_n = \dfrac{22}{2} (2 \times 2 + (22 - 1) \times 3)

\bf\implies \:S_n = 11 \times (4 + 21 \times 3)

\bf\implies \:S_n = 11 \times 67

\bf\implies \:S_n = 737
