Answer:

The value of 10^{\text {th }} term  is 8.

Given:

In an A.P  S_{10} = 80 and S_{9} = 72

To find:

The value of a_{10}

Solution :

In an AP. The series is a, a + d, a + 2d, ….

S_{10}  = sum of 10 terms

S_{9}  = sum of 9 terms

S_{10} = S_{9}  + 10th term

Hence substituting the values in the above equation, we get

80 = 72 + 10^{\text {th }} term

10^{\text {th }} term = 8.

Result:

The value of 10^{\text {th }} term  is 8.
