In AP

common difference d= -4

And nth term = 7

to find a1=?

we use the formula to the find first term

An= a+ (n-1) *d.

An taken = 4

4 = a+ (7 -1) *-4. ( n taken 7)

4 = a+ 6*-4

transpose 4 from lhs to rhs

4= a + -24

so a = 24+4

So answer comes.

first term = 28
