Answer:

There are 96 students on the whole

Take away the fifth graders (1/6 X 96 = 16) and you have 80 left

Take away the fourth graders (1/3 X 96 = 32) and you have 48 left

Second graders are 1/4 of the remaining → 1/4* 48 = 12

The answer is 12

Answer:

so there are 96 students in total, and you know 1/6 of 96 are fifth graders:

96 x 1/6 = 16

and you know 1/3 of 96 are fourth graders:

96 x 1/3 = 32

so to find the remaining kids:

96-16-32= 48

1/4 of the remaining kids are second graders:

48 x 1/4 = 12

therefore, there are 12 second graders
