Step-by-step explanation:

Let the population of the three cities are A, B and C.

Given➡️. A:B:C = 7:5:2

Let population of A = 7x

Population of B = 5x

Population of C = 2x

Minor population of A = (40×7x)/100 = 280x/100

Minor population of B = (42×5x)/100 = 210x/100

Minor population of C = (45×2x)/100 = 90x/100

➡️ Total Minor population = 280x/100 + 210x/100 + 90x/100 = 580x/100

Total Population = A+B+C = 7x + 5x + 2x = 14x

Percentage of total minor population = (580x/100/14x) × 100

= 580x/14x = 41.43%
