In an election 10% of the total votes were declared invalid. if a candidate got 40% of the valid votes and if the total number of. noted polled were 6,00,000, find the number of valid votes polled in favour of the candidate.

Total votes=600000

10% of 600000

Invalid votes =60000

Valid=600000-60000=540000

Now candidate get 40% of 540000

40% of 540000

=540000x40/100 =216000

Votes in his favour =216000
