Numbers of votes cast = 55000
Number of votes invalid = 0.5% of 55000
=0.5/100 of 55000
=5/1000 of 55000
=275
So,number of valid votes = 55000 - 275
= 54725

Now, number of votes the winning candidate got = 56% of 54725
=56/100 of 54725
=30646
So,number of votes the winning candidate got =30646

Hope it helps...!!!
