In an election, a candidate got 65% of the total valid votes. 8% of the total votes were
declared invalid. If the total number of votes cast were 6,00.000, find the number of valid
votes polled in favour of the candidate.

total votes = 600000

8% invalid

⇒92% valid votes=92X600000/100=552000

candidate got 65% of the valid votes

so he got=65X552000/100=358800.
