In an election, between 2 candidates 25% voters did not cast their votes. A candidate scored 40% of the votes polled and was defeated by 900 votes. Find the total number of voters.

25℅ voters didn't cast votes,it means only 75℅ voters cast there votes and
40℅out of them had cast there votes
to 'A' candidate.

:.If x = total voters,then........
75/100× x ×40/100 =900
× = 900×100×100/40×75
× = 3,000
:. 3000 is the number of total voters
