Given:

Percentage of valid votes= 95%

Percentage of valid votes obtained by the winner= 60%

Margin of win= 760 votes

To find:

The number of invalid votes

Solution:

Let the total number of votes be T

So, number of valid votes= 95% of T

Number of votes obtained by the winner = 60% ( 95% of T)

Number of votes obtained by the loser= 40%( 95% of T)

So, difference between the votes obtained by both= [60% ( 95% of T)- 40%( 95% of T) ]

= 20%( 95% of T)

According to the condition, the winner won by a margin of 760 votes

So, 20%( 95% of T) = 760

By solving this, we get T = (760*500)/95

Or, T = 4000

The total number of votes = 4000

So, number of invalid votes = 5% of 4000 = 200

The number of invalid votes is 200.
