In an election, there were two candidates A and B. The total number of voters in this constituency was 50000 and 85% of the total votes were polled. If 65% of the polled votes were cast in favour of A, how many votes were received by B?

total votes polled= 50000×85%

= 42500

total votes cast in favour of A = 42500×65%

=27625

votes cast in favour of B= 42500-27625
