Answer:

Work done by emf source = charge transferred x emf of the source

charge transferred = current x time

= 3A x 300s = 900C

Emf = work done / charge transferred

= 1350J / 900C = 1.5V

Emf = 1.5V

Answer:

The emf of the source of the circuit is 1.5 volts.

Explanation:

Given,

Current (I) = 3A

Time of flowing of current (t) =  5 minutes

Work done (W) = 1350 J

To find,

The emf or the voltage of the source (V)

Calculation,

We know that the power of the circuit(P) is given by:

P = VI

But we know that P = W/t

So, W/t = VI

⇒ W = V × I × t

⇒ 1350 J = V(3)(5 × 60 sec)

⇒ 1350 J = 15 × 60 × V

⇒ V = 1.5 V

Therefore, the emf of the source of the circuit is 1.5 volts.
