In an electric circuit , two resistors of 2 ohm and 4 ohm are connected in PARALLEL to a 6v battery . Calculate the heat dissipared by the 4 ohm resistor in 5 seconds

R1= 2 ohm

R2= 4 ohm

V = 6v

Now, equivalent resistance in series

R = R1+ R2

R = 2 + 4

R = 6 ohm

And, A/c to ohm's law

V = IR

6 = I×6

I = 6/6

I = 1A

Now, A/q heat displaced in 5 second by 4 ohm resistor is,

H = I×I×R×t

= 1×1×4×5

= 20 J
