In an energy dispersive neutron scattering experiment, the scattering vector is fixed and velocity i.e energy of the scattered neutron is measured. This is performed in a so called time –flight experiment. What is the velocity and hence energy (in eV) of neutrons which are scattered at the (2,0,0) and (1,0,0,0) Bragg peaks of rock salt (simple cubic structure with a=5.63Å) if the Bragg scattering angle is fixed at 90o? Mn=1.675×10-27kg. Hint: Calculate wavelength first using Braggs law.
