In an examination 35% of students failed and 325 students passed. Find the number of students who appeared in the examination .

Let the total no of students be x

If 35% of students failed the exam then
the rest % were passed. i.e. 100%-35%=65%

Now the 65% of x are 325 students

So the equation forms like this

65/100*x=325

X=325*100/65

X=5*100

X=500

So the total no. of students who appeared in exams are 500
