Dear Student,

★ Step-by-step explanation:

➼ Suppose no of students Students = 100

No of STUDENTS passed in mathematics = 40 ( a)

No of STUDENTS passed in science = 30 (b)

No of STUDENTS remaining = 100 - (a+b)

                                                  = 100 - (40+30)

                                                  = 30

No of STUDENTS failed in both subjects = 10( c)

➼ Hence no of students remaining= 30-(c)

                                                          = 30-10

                                                          =20

No of students passed In both subjects =20

No of STUDENTS passed in mathematics =40+20 =60

Percentage of students passed In both subjects =20 percent

Percentage of students who passed In MATHEMATICS =60 percent

This problem can be solved Using Venn diagrams
